With autumn beginning and temperatures starting to drop, now is an important time to catch up on car service. Be sure to try out the following car care tips to get your Ford ready as Michigan welcomes the autumn season.
Check the battery
Take a look at the battery. If the connections are covered in dirt or corrosion, disconnect them and use a wire brush to clean them. If the battery has removable caps, it’s a good idea to look at the water level and refill it as needed.
Replace the wipers
In order to have plenty of visibility when it rains or snows, you need to replace your windshield wipers every six to 12 months. At the very least, you need to change them if they leave streaks on your windshield.
Inspect the tire tread
Your tires need to have at least one-eighth of an inch of tread in order to have enough traction in different weather conditions. If they have less than that amount of tread, you need to get a new set. You may also want to consider switching to winter tires to best handle the upcoming snow.
If you want to leave the autumn car care to the experts, schedule a service appointment at North Brothers Ford in Westland, Michigan, and our technicians will take it from there.
